“Have you ever wondered how the Genie got into that lamp in the first place?”  Disney has been working hard the past few months searching through their extensive and profitable animated classic catalogue for properties ripe for translation to live action films.  They found success with Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and Cinderella and now each week comes word of a new project in the works.  In the next few years fans will be treated to live action adaptations of Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, Mulan, Winnie the Pooh, Night on Bald Mountain, Dumbo and Prince Charming (and there may be more, I’ve lost track).  Now according to The Hollywood Reporter we may also be getting a prequel film based in the world of Aladdin about the Genie.
