Jurassic World Sequel Gets a 2018 Release Date

Jurassic World, the “soft” reboot of the popular Jurassic Park franchise has been a success any way you look at it.  This summer was expected to be dominated by Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was expected to do even bigger numbers than the first film (that was in 3rd place both domestically and in the international box office) since all the Phase 2 movies got a huge financial boost following the Avengers juggernaut.  However, it has been Jurassic World that has taken theaters by storm to the tune of $615 million domestically and $1.5 billion internationally (good for 4th and 3rd so far, but will likely settle for 3rd on both lists).  That’s larger hauls than even the most generous of predictions and proves that the Jurassic Park brand is still alive and kicking.
