Director Jon Watts Discusses Spider-Man

Spider-Man will soon be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  The first movie that will debut the character alongside of the other Marvel heavyweights will be next year’s Captain America: Civil War.  In 2017 the webhead will receive his first stand alone film under the umbrella of Marvel (for full details about how Marvel got the rights back and some of what can be expected in that film see here and here) and the direction of Jon Watts (Cop Car).  In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Jon Watts spills about some of what we can expect from his version of Spider-Man. Bob the Musical Gets Some Talent on Board, Maybe Even Tom Cruise

Disney has been trying to get the film Bob the Musical off the ground for years, but it appears as though they’re finally gaining some traction.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the mouse house has brought it Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon to pen the screenplay, Bret McKenzie (Oscar winner for The Muppets) to compose the music and Michel Hazanavicius (directed Oscar winner, The Artist) to direct.  If that’s not enough talent behind the scenes, the site has stated that Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise is also circling the project as the star. Chris Pine Closes Deal to Play Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman

There has been numerous rumors about Chris Pine’s involvement in the DC movie universe.  He was allegedly up for the role of Green lantern before that character was played by Ryan Reynolds in a movie that won’t be considered apart of the latest shared universe of films.  Then his name popped up in association with the character of Steve Trevor, best known for his relationship with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in the comics and working with ARGUS (an organization that acts as a go-between for the government and Justice League as well as commissioning the “Suicide Squad” on their missions).  Prior to the San Diego Comic Con there was word that DC might decide to incorporate multiple Green Lanterns into their universe and that Chris Pine was up for the role of Hal Jordan (he was my favorite for the character so I was pulling for this to be true).  After all that was said and done, The Wrap is reporting that Chris Pine has signed on the dotted line to play the role of Steve Trevor.
