Will Braniac, Supergirl and Bizarro Appear in the Man of Steel Sequel?

A month ago a rough version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was screened before Warner Bros. executives who reportedly gave it a standing ovation.  Later there was word that the executives were particularly impressed with Ben Affleck’s Batman and wanted more of him and less of Henry Cavill’s Superman in the film (read more about that here).  After hearing that news, many suspected that a Man of Steel sequel was dead and that Clark Kent/Superman would simply be used as a means for kicking off other characters’ solo films and in the future Justice League movie.  However, now there’s a rumor coming from Heroic Hollywood that the Man of Steel sequel is still in the works and that a few well-known characters from the comics will make an appearance. Is Christopher Nolan Directing an Akira Trilogy?

Last week there was a report that an unknown Christopher Nolan movie was in the works with a possible release date set for July 21, 2017.  There was no title, no plot, writer or even a genre for the movie known at the time.  Now after a report yesterday from Den of Geeks, there is a rumor that Christopher Nolan will be directing a trilogy based on the popular anime hit Akira.
