Assassin’s Creed will be opening later this year and so far there has not been much in the way of promotion for the film. I have been saying that due to the talent involved in this film I expect it to be the one to break the video game adaptation curse, becoming the first movie based on a game to be a success both commercially and critically (while Warcraft might turn out to be a quality movie, I think it’s going to get lost in the summer movie shuffle and not perform well commercially). Below check out some new images from Assassin’s Creed (via Coming Soon).
Here are the previously released stills from the film:
“The Assassin’s Creed movie follows a character by the name of Callum Lynch who, through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, is able to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.”
Assassin’s Creed stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Jeremy Irons and Brandon Gleeson. The film arrives in theaters December 21, 2016. What are your thoughts on what we have seen thus far from Assassin’s Creed? Is this a film you’re looking forward to at the end of the year?
