Creed 2 – Official Synopsis and Behind-The-Scenes Clips

Sylvester Stallone took to his Instagram account to post the latest announcement that Creed 2 has begun filming.

Creed 2 will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. from a screenplay by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage).  The movie is a direct sequel to Ryan Coogler‘s 2015 film Creed that saw Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, son of Apollo Creed.  In addition to the brief behind-the-scenes clips posted by Stallone (see below), the film’s official synopsis has been revealed.

“Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”

Since the original Creed’s release, Jordan has become a household name due to his fantastic turn in Black Panther.  It’s disappointing that Coogler won’t return to helm the sequel, but the film will see the return of cast members Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris, and Andre Ward.  New to the cast are Florian Munteanu as Vitor Drago, son of Ivan Drago, and Russell Hornsby.

Creed 2 is set to be released in theaters November 21, 2018.  What do you think about the official synopsis to Creed 2?  Are you looking forward to catching this film in theaters?  Share your thoughts in the discussion board below.
