What Does the Future Hold for Indiana Jones?

Last week Disney/Lucasfilm officially announced that Indiana Jones 5 is in the works with a July 19, 2019 release date.  It was also indicated that Harrison Ford would be returning to the iconic role.  With Indiana Jones having strong brand recognition, Disney/Lucasfilm are no doubt trying to figure out a way to continue the franchise for many movies to come (similar to their return to the Star Wars money-maker).  What will this look like moving forward? It’s Official- Indiana Jones 5 Gets a Release Date!

Coming Soon is reporting that Indiana Jones 5 is officially on Disney/Lucasfilm’s movie slate for a July 19, 2019 release date.  Steven Spielberg is back to direct with Harrison Ford on board to star and Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall set to produce the film.  Since Disney purchased Lucasfilm back in 2012 it was only a matter of time before a new Indiana Jones adventure found its way to the big screen, but it was unknown whether that would be a continuation of the story with Ford returning to the iconic role or a soft reboot with a new actor wearing the fedora, similar to the James Bond franchise.  Check out the official announcement below. Blade Runner 2 Opening Scene Description

In a discussion at the AFI Festival recently, Ridley Scott discussed his intentions for the opening sequence for the upcoming Blade Runner 2, which was actually a scrapped idea for the opening of the original film.  Scott is no longer attached to direct the sequel after stepping down and allowing Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) to take the reins.  With cinematographer Roger Deakins in tow, this project actually sounds promising.  Check out Scott’s description of the opening scene, via /Film: Continue reading Blade Runner 2 Opening Scene Description
