Other than stating there will be 4 Avatar sequels and that the release date has been delayed again from the announced December 2018 date, not much has been revealed regarding the story of the future Avatar films. When Avatar opened in 2009 it went on to break domestic and worldwide box office records. It seemed like a no-brainer that such a huge movie would spawn several sequels, but despite word that writer/director James Cameron was working on the script we haven’t heard any concrete information about when he plans to release new films.
