Colonel Quaritch Confirmed as Villain in Avatar Sequels

Other than stating there will be 4 Avatar sequels and that the release date has been delayed again from the announced December 2018 date, not much has been revealed regarding the story of the future Avatar films.  However, in an interview with Empire (via Coming Soon), writer-director James Cameron stated that we’ll see the return of Stephen Lang’s Colonel Miles Quaritch as the main villain across the full 4 films. James Cameron Says We Can Expect Avatar 2 Christmas 2017

When Avatar opened in 2009 it went on to break domestic and worldwide box office records.  It seemed like a no-brainer that such a huge movie would spawn several sequels, but despite word that writer/director James Cameron was working on the script we haven’t heard any concrete information about when he plans to release new films.  In an interview with the Montreal Gazette (via Latino Review), James Cameron discussed when we could see the sequel to Avatar, which is intended to be the first of three new films.
